A Celebration of the Spring Equinox through Yoga and Shamanism

The spring equinox heralds the onset of spring and is a time when we literally and metaphorically plant seeds that will grow and bear fruit. It is a season of equilibrium where we emerge from our dark winter’s hibernation and move towards the light. As such it is a potent time to focus on our own awakening and potential.

Tutor(s): Reva

During this retreat there will be emphasis on gaining clarity on what ‘seeds’ you wish to incubate and plant in your life. You will also be encouraged to explore what you wish to draw towards you, and let go of what no longer serves you.

The retreat will offer you a space to share and explore with others. We will work with the themes of manifestation, awakening and balance in your life, using practices such as hatha yoga, chanting, meditation, and selfless service (karma yoga). Shamanism points us towards the teachings and rhythms of nature. The earth's energy is strong in the springtime, so we will spend time working with intention within nature. Participants will also experience a classical shamanic journey. The retreat will culminate in a shamanic fire ceremony followed by a kirtan (uplifting group chanting session).

This retreat is suitable for yoga practitioners, teachers and all seekers. The traditions of both yoga and shamanism are drawn upon in this celebration of the spring equinox.
