Reconnecting with Pranayama - Online Course

Join us for a pranayama course to re-inspire your practice. Pranayama practices have a profound impact on our general well-being and our ability to cope with and connect with daily life.

Tutor(s): Tulsi and Maha Sattwa

This two day course will encompass the themes of sound and triangles or balance and will include the practices of Brahmari, Pravana Aum, Nadi Shodhana and Anuloma Viloma amongst others.

By increasing and improving the flow and balance of energy we can still the mind and more readily access meditation and concentration practices, bringing a greater sense of connection with both the Self and that which is beyond the Self. Pranayama is a lovely addition to any yoga asana practice you may already have, is ideal as preparation for meditation or can simply be practiced on it’s own for the sheer enjoyment of it.

Throughout this 10-hour online course via zoom we will explore a range of pranayama practices which will be suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners. The weekend will include two asana classes focusing on practices that will enhance the pranayama experience and a breath focused yoga nidra practice. Furthermore we will explore how pranayama practice creates a natural link to the higher practices of concentration and meditation.

All the practices will be available for your continued use at home. The retreat will start with a one-hour introductory session on Friday evening at 7pm and then include practices at 7.30-9am, 10-11am, 12-1pm, and 4-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday. We would encourage you to consider this as a treat/retreat for yourself and as such please try as far as possible to keep the time between sessions clear of unnecessary distractions to optimise your experience of the retreat.
