'Your heart is the size of the ocean. Go find yourself in its hidden depths' - Rumi
In this introductory one day course, we will be exploring how we can express the qualities of the heart in everyday life.
Tutor(s): Hridaya Purna and Sw. Krishnaprem
Our hearts hold the key to relationships. Our relationship to ourselves, loved ones, community, the world around us and the divine.
When our hearts are broken open through loss, grief and relationships ending we have a unique, if sometimes painful, opportunity to increase our capacity for love through healing practices and contemplation.
When our hearts are blossoming through unconditional, romantic or platonic bonding we also find ourselves in moments where we can expand our sense of presence, interdependence and divine interaction.
In this course, we will create a safe nurturing space for you to soften, soothe and expand your heart. We’ll offer a variety of yogic practices, movement meditations and reflections to inspire you to dive into the depths of your heart.
We’ll include reflections on bhakti yoga (the yoga of the heart), practice hridaya dharana (focus on the heart) and work with the energy of anahata chakra (the heart centre). We’ll also be inviting you to share your experience and make a commitment to apply what you have learned in the course to a current situation. We hope that you emerge with a renewed intention to practice everyday heart connection in your life.
