Developing Sadhana Retreat

Progress in yoga and on the spiritual path can benefit from a sadhana (a disciplined and dedicated yogic practice) that has strong foundations and is based on holistic yoga and meditation teachings. A personal sadhana can act as a refuge amidst the ongoing challenges of life, and a basis for growth and development in all aspects of life; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

Tutor(s): Tulsi, assisted by senior Ashram teachers

There are times in life when we can feel an inner spiritual calling… telling us that there must be something more than our usual daily routine. A calling to step out of our daily life for a while and to explore our inner potential and open to fundamental questions as to who we are, and what our life purpose is. This month-long retreat offers can be in response to such a calling.

Fundamental to any spiritual path is the development of sadhana - disciplined and dedicated practice. Our daily sadhana is that which creates the possibility for change and transformation both in our understanding of who and what we are on a practical and essential level, and by extension in the quality of our lives.

The Ashram is offering this month-long residential retreat that will include teachings and practices from many different paths of yoga including daily classes in hatha yoga, chanting and meditation, and an opportunity to share and take practices deeper. In addition, the program will include daily karma yoga (selfless service) and regular offerings of yoga nidra (deep relaxation), kirtan (devotional chanting), havan (fire ceremony) and satsang (question and answer). Throughout the month the practices will be explored and deepened leading to the development of a quality and sustainable sadhana that can serve you for years to come.

Retreat participants will live and practice alongside the ashram team for the month. Alongside teachings and karma yoga, each course participant will have a designated mentor and receive weekly one to one mentor support.

This retreat is an ideal opportunity for anyone wishing to develop their personal yoga and meditation practice and is a useful preparation for anyone wishing to be considered for a longer-term Ashram stay.
