Celebrating the Celtic Festivals with Yoga - the Summer Solstice

The Celtic festivals mark the turning of the seasons within the year. These four online one day workshops offer a space to connect with the festivals of Winter Solstice, Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox.

Tutor(s): Reva

Following the Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox, the annual cycle reaches its peak with the Summer Solstice. During this day we will explore the themes of honouring the light, knowing that the daylight is at its longest and the cycle will change once more and soon we will move towards our inner reflections once again. Our practices will relish in abundance and expansion, celebrating our achievements and the fruits of our sadhana (spiritual practice).

As we celebrate these traditional festivals we are following in the footsteps of our ancestors and connecting deeply with a thread that helps us align and come into balance with nature. Through yoga and sharing we can harmonize with the natural seasonal patterns and recognize our place within the whole of creation.

Through the practices of asana, meditation, and yoga nidra the workshops will support participants in deepening their connection to each particular phase of the year; its qualities, elements and gifts. There will also be an opportunity to reflect and share on how the festival connects with your own life and how ritual can offer a gateway to letting go of what no longer serves you allowing you to welcome more of the qualities that you need at these times.

This day is part of a 4-day series, celebrating all of the 4 Celtic solstice and equinox festivals. You may also wish to consider:
