Mudras - aligning with Consciousness

In this 3-day retreat we will explore a wide range of mudras (gesture or attitudes) that align our inner energies and help open a door to deeper states of Consciousness.

Tutor(s): Tulsi, assisted by Swami Krishnaprem

Mudras can beneficially alter our mood, attitude or perception and catalyse a deepening of awareness.

The translation of the Sanskrit word mudra is 'gesture' or 'attitude'. Also known as energetic shortcuts or circuit by-passes, they create a bridge between the physical body, the mental body, and the energy body, harmonising or balancing our sense of Self. Furthermore, through the redirection of awareness and prana/ energy, they lead us to pratyahara (sense withdrawal) and deeper states of concentration, even meditation.

During this retreat we will use the practices of asana, pranayama and meditation to explore selected hasta (hand), mana (head), and kaya (postural) mudras, giving you a wide range of tools, or practices, to enhance your self practice. The course will also include sessions in yoga nidra, karma yoga and daily chanting and meditation.

This course is open to any level of practitioner.
